First, I must apologize to my blog for being so absent. A little thing called work started up this past week, and that has not boded well for my blog. Hopefully, I'll adjust quickly and will be back to blogging in no time.
In any event, back to last weekend, which also happened to be my last weekend of baby vacay. Despite the waterworks (both from Mother Nature and from me), we all managed to have a great time and I mostly avoided being overly sentimental. Goldie was the real winner this weekend - she got to meet a new buddy, Gibson...I can tell they'll be great buds in no time. And my first Mother's Day was really special. I could tell the day was off to a good start when the message at church referenced the same passage in Ruth that we read at our wedding. Other high points in the day included a fun and yummy family lunch at Rumi's and my sweet hubbie giving me a cute Tory Burch bag. It doubled as my back to work present I guess. All in all, it was a great weekend...even if it was a bit on the bittersweet side.
Aren't Goldie and Mr. Gibson cute - aka - it's even harder to take pictures of a puppy than an infant:
Despite the rain, it was a great first Mother's Day:
No post about final weekends would be complete without some looking back. In no particular order, some of my favorite things about being home with Baby E:
Miss Goldie - further proof that she is the best dog ever, Miss Goldie now takes her naps outside of Mr. E's room while he sleeps away and whenever he cries (which is hardly ever of course), you can always find Goldie right by his crib. She has even woken me up a few times during the night to let me know that Mr. E was ready to eat. What a sweet dog!
Watching Mr. E - it's amazing how the most basic things become highly entertaining. I guess the lack of sleep is a partial explanation for this. In any event, I'll miss taking countless pictures of tummy time and playmat activities (not to mention our daily walks):
Bye, bye last weekend....
