Week 19

Nothing like waiting until the last minute for our weekly update...

Anyways, here's to another week filled with steak dinners (we still heart Chops), visits from family and lots of fun baby time. Thursday's blowout on one of my work outfits is now a distant, yet comical memory.

I'll blame it on the hot weather and being distracted by the big Supreme Court decision, but we I was really bad at taking photos this week. Thank you J for stepping up with the instagram photos. I promise we will do better next week as we enter E's 20th week.

It is hard to believe...but E is nineteen weeks:)

The Official Week 19 Photos (and yes, that is Dr. Seuss fabric for the highly observant)

As mentioned above, I was really bad taking photos this week - but I did grab the camera one morning to catch the little man sleeping...if I weren't so paranoid I'd wake him up, I think I could stare at this little guy forever.

While I was busy working, E started bonding with Sophie and J had fun with instagram. At least one of us was taking photos this week!

And while we're on the subject of shout-outs, I have to say that this week I really loved reading The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin (yep, I might make a 'resolutions chart'), and

our latest Buford Highway discovery, El Senor Taco. Can't complain about a super-yummy $10 dinner! Thanks to yelp.com for these images (as I was yet again a bad photographer). Hmmn, wonder where our next stop will be on the great Buford Highway?

Back to baby stuff and last, but not least, the B-Sides from this week:

Enjoy and goodbye June:)

18 Weeks and a First Father's Day

Before we welcome Week 19, lets chat about Week 18. Better late than never, right?

With Week 18, we enjoyed a few more firsts  (Father's Day and date night) and lots of fun dining adventures (hello, Lee's Bakery, Tasty China and Hal's). Alea Moore also surprised us with our three month photos this week. So, needless to say, it was a great week.

Like us, E can't believe he is already 18 weeks old...what is a baby to do?

The highlight of the week was Father's Day - we went the not-so-obvious-route and celebrated in style by going to Lee's Bakery on Saturday (for E's dad) and Tasty China on Sunday (for J's dad). Between super-yummy banh mi's and a wide array of dishes with numbing peppers, this weekend represented a major culinary win. Instead of photographing the food, we had a impromptu photoshoot at Lee's Bakery. Can't wait to go back to either place!

Happy First Father's Day, J :)

Another fun first for the week - date night!!! Thanks to Nana K, we had our first night out and dined in style at Hal's. While we're still not sure if they have the best steak in town, our meal sure was yummy. Hopefully, we won't have to wait another 4 months to do this again.

Speaking of firsts, we thought we were going to have another first to report this week - the arrival of E's first tooth. But alas, apart from E's grumpiness in the beginning of the week and his new-found love for Sophie, we have not discovered further evidence of a tooth. I guess this was a false alarm (for now, at least).

And just because I think it is cute, here is a picture of E admiring himself in the mirror. Who knew how entertaining this activity could be?

Last, but not least, the B-Sides for the week. Enjoy:

'Til Next Week...Enjoy:)

Happy 4 Months!

I can't believe that it was four months ago today that we welcomed our little man into the world. Being the nice parents that we are, we celebrated E's four month birthday with a trip to the doctor. What a champ, he smiled and chatted through most of the appointment and barely cried during his shots. He was even patient enough to let us take pictures at the end of the day. What a sweetie!

The official four month stats: 12lbs/3.4oz and 24 1/4 inches long, he is a growing boy. Now, I just need to update the baby book!

It is amazing we got any smiles with all of these bandaids...

More fun photos and some pre-father's day bonding:

As always, some extra photos that I just had to include...
Happy Birthday, Baby Boy!

The 17th Week

It is beginning to seem like the weeks keep going faster and faster. The arrival of the 17th week marked the end of our first month of being back to work and starting school. It has been an interesting transition to say the least.

Even with a busy work week, Week 17 was a fun one. Auntie Allison came back to visit with Jared, and we had a blast. Fingers crossed that we can get our favorite NYC buddies to move South. In the meantime, I guess we'll just have to settle on some occasional visits and maybe a guest blog post by the fully operational folks. I know E would appreciate that (hint, hint).

P.S. - blame the rain for the lack of photos this week :)

The Official Photos
(aka - looks like we'll be needing a new onesie soon)

Even though little E looks scared in these photos, I swear the swing has become our best friend of late:

E is also beginning to love "exer-saucing" - could it be a new word?

But, seriously, I think this must be one of E's favorite activities...you can't beat bath time smiles!

And proof that we actually leave our house on the weekends, check out E's glowing paci. Gotta love hanging out at a coffee shop on a rainy Sunday morning. Miss you already, Auntie Allison.

Last, but not least, the B-sides from this week:

Hope everyone had a great week!
